Backlash – Protecting Adult Consent.
Backlash is an organisation set up to provide academic, legal, and campaigning resources to defend freedom of sexual expression. Backlash supports the rights of adults to participate in all consensual sexual activities and to watch, read and create any fictional interpretation of such in any media.
Backlash was created in 2005 to collate evidence for an informed debate on censorship and to oppose the criminalisation of the ownership of visual or written materials which the establishment wishes to make illegal on the basis that it considers it to be ‘abhorrent’.
It continues to provide legal advice and defend those caught up in such new laws, to raise awareness about why these laws are wrong, dysfunctional, and have unintended consequences. Backlash supports the rights of the individual and campaigns to protect adult freedoms and rights.
Backlash is the operational name of Unfettered Ltd of a not for profit company (registered 05272470). It is run entirely by the voluntary work of its Management Team and its campaigning work is funded entirely by voluntary donations and fund-raising events.
